Dear Ones,

Rev. Moira Foxe
Here I am in my office with the sweet sound of Christmas Carols quietly wafting throughout the room. Outside the early blue, pink and purple shades of evening shine through the branches of my garden trees. Now and then a leaf falls and a bush stirs. Just now a small bird is sending a shiver through the blooming magnolia tree as she hops from branch to branch. It delights me to observe Spirit’s movement in my office garden. Ah yes! It’s all God! It’s all good and all is well.
All IS well is what I am knowing for each one of you dear, wonderful ones as we approach the New Year. Having said that, I believe that newness is available to us every moment of every day, and we don’t have to wait for a New Year, or new situation, or new job or new relationship in order for things to change for the better. Things change for the better as soon as we decide to allow change for the better to happen, and we become open and receptive to it. Resistance comes so easily to us. So much so, that we mostly are not aware of our resistance. So my wish for each cherished one of you this year is that you may know a deep and lasting peace. A peace that can only come when we let go of our tendency to resist; when we relax, surrender and let the beautiful, soothing essence of love wash over us, bringing us consciously to grace again. When we are so caught up in the blissful embrace of Spirit, resistance is impossible and peace is the natural outcome. That, my Dear Ones, is what I wish and desire for you – and no less than that.
As you know, our Center for Spiritual Living is a dedicated Peace Sanctuary. Sometimes though we have to be reminded that it is not the building that is consecrated and dedicated to Peace, it is each one of us. WE are the peace sanctuaries. WE are the ones anyone can come to and find peace. WE are living Temples of the Holy Spirit. What a lovely and awesome thought! “I am the living Temple of the Holy Spirit!” Amazing! I am calling on each one of us to recommit to our high calling at the beginning of this new cycle of time. You and I stepping up to the peace plate now, is the only way peace will happen in our world. We cannot do this alone. Alone we feel inadequate, incapable and too little. Alone in our thinking, choosing and doing, the ego all too often has its way with us and keeps us afraid. In fear we do not think, choose or do well. That is why those of us who stay consciously connected to our Source and invite Its participation in our lives constantly and consciously, move through our days with faith and trust in Divine Providence; the result being the capacity to come through our challenges with grace and ease the better for them and with a sense of peace and joy. “Of myself I can do nothing, it is the Father within that doeth the work.” This incredible scripture statement, when understood, lifts us up out of struggle and strife. It calls us to relax, release, let go, and let God BE by means of me. It says, “Cast your cares upon me and go free.” “Remember, I am the way, the truth and the life.” “In me, with me, through me is life.” “Believe this and you will have life and you will have it in abundance and your joy will be complete.” “Come to me all you who labor and are burdened and I will refresh you.” “Look unto me and LIVE!” To know this, to stay in this awareness, is to live in peace.
We know very well Dear Ones, that peace begins with me! It flows out from within. If we can’t find peace in the house of our minds then it can’t be found. Peace will only be felt in a calm and comfortable “home” – one wherein the mind and heart are happy companions that support each other in truth and love. There is no squabbling or strife in Peace’s home. Harmony reigns. So if we want to be in peace and live in harmony with life, we need to understand the peace process: what causes it, what actions and attitudes we must release in order to feel and express it. Small, small changes remember can bring about great results. A slight shift in mind, a small tweaking of attitude can begin the rediscovery of the Oneness at the center core of our being – an achievement well worth pursuing as we move into a new time cycle. Of course this will only happen if we spend time at home in our own mind in touch with the greatness within – Emmanuel. Perhaps this year more of us will factor such an amazing treat and advancing spiritual practice into our schedules, until eventually such purposeful pauses become second nature to us, “Like breathing out and breathing in.” Until then Dear Ones, SCHEDULE! Let us stop being such human doings all the time and be more ourselves – human beings.
I just heard that the crystal ball that brings in the year 2010 in New York’s Time Square is dedicated to Courage. I love that! Courage is its theme for this New Year. It takes spiritual fortitude to be peaceful when the appearance of unrest is all around us. Know that that courage is within each Christed one of us. It can be our anchor and root us firmly in the awareness of Presence as we begin to express more fully the peace we so desire to see in our world. Peace is already with you! Open the door and go within. It awaits you with all its love and joy.
Peace to you and your Dear Ones in this coming year and richest blessings too. The world awaits your bright, loving, generous, peace-filled spirit. Go out there and be the great blessing you are.
Know you are loved and cherished.
With great gratitude and deep blessings,
Reverend Moira
